Tuto fotku jsem někde nalezl a moc se mi líbí ten text, který tam je. Zde je jeho český překlad:

This is your life

The person who complains about the way the ball bounces, is likely the one who dropped it.

I found on Seth Godin’s blog in one post this picture in the context of the recent incidents that happend in Japan and following decision (I guess very rash one) done in Germany. It shows the impact of particular way of producing the electricity on the death rate of people per produced watt. It is very intersting comparison.

There are no alternative ways such as wind, sun and biomass mentioned in it. I think that they should be here. The results and impacts of their big support from EU and other countries in the last years are evident. The amount of starving people could talk. The rising prices of the food speaks for themselves. The rising import of the food to the countries which were previously self-sufficient is a live confirmation. And I could go on and on.

Isn’t the price too high for the development and expanse of the alternative resources? I know it very important to protect the environment and to treat our planet with respect. But won’t be the brought sacrifice too big for this artificial distortion of the world trade?

We celebrate today the anniversary of the end of the 2nd World War. This is how it looked like here in Brno in The Freedom Square afterwards. There are many things that can be written about what the war ment and brought. I guess that the results for us can be said in one short note. In the context of the history – from nowadays perspective – it ment for citizens of Czechoslovakia Pyrrhic victory. And here is the definition of it:

A Pyrrhic victory is a victory with devastating cost to the victor; it carries the implication that another such victory will ultimately cause defeat.

Do you see it from the same perspective. Write down your ideas, I will gladly read them…

are the rules just for somebody?

Toto video doslova obletělo celý svět. Na svém webu ho mají jak CNN tak i třeba Huffington Post a nebo Los Angeles Times. Otázkou zůstává – je náš prezident zloděj? Co si o tom myslíte?

This video literally went all over the world. The CNN and for example the Huffington Post or Los Angeles Times have it on their web pages. The question reamins – is our president thief? What do you think?

je to zloděj? / is he a thief?

There is 50th anniversary of the first human on the orbit today. There is a rumble that is not true most probably that Garin while he was on the orbit said: “I don’t see any God up here.”

If he said it he was right because God is invisible :-)

cure obese people or feed the hungry

Svět má dilema: Léčit obézní, nebo nakrmit hladové? :: Ekonomika :: ČT24

The above mentioned article from Czech TV got my attention today. The results in the discussion on Facebook are clear – you should definetely feed the hungry. I totally agree with that but o the other hand I have to say that we have to teach the hungry ones how to take care for themselves. The rich countries should not shut up the hungry people by putting the food into their mouths – it happens and it doesn’t help.

Bůh a komunismus II

God and communism

We celebrated the 21st anniversary of the Velvet Revolution a while ago and tweeted about it this: “21 let od Sametové revoluce – díky Bohu za ni /// 21st anniversary of Velvet Revolution – thank you God for it ///#freedom #nomorecommunism”. This tweet showed up in my FB account too and one of my friends posted a question for me there: “Milan when you thank to God for the Revolution… Have you ever been thinking why He sent at us the communists?”

I told myself that I wouldn’t just go over it with some cheap answer but I would think more about it, because it is worth it.

Why did God send on us the communists?
