raising kids

Every parent thinks for sure about how to raise his/her kids. He/she thinks where they are going, how to help them in that path, how support them and how to give them the values that are for him/her important. I have to admit that it applies for me too. I was touched by one post by Steven Furtick in this context.

We did English Camps with Ratolest (now Haluz) in the times when I was a teenager and I was convinced that the best testimony to “work” the best on the people who do not believe is the one when somebody believed after he/she went through all rough stuff of life – rebelling in the family, drugs, prison etc. It is possible. But when I read the mentioned post I concluded that this mine idea might be valid but I would not be pleased if my kids would go this way.

I pray every night that our kids could recognize God’s love and that God is alive. I pray that they will trust in Him and follow Him all their life. For them to see that it is worth to be with God no matter what is going on because the value of life in Christ cannot be replaced by anything and anybody.

Matthew 13:45 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. 46 When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!

I hope that once our kids will get it that even it costs everything they have, but the stuff that this decision will bring to their lives is more valuable that what they can lose.

I do not know how it will end. I can only believe and do maximum possible for it so the next generation in our family can continue in what we have started with Misa. So our kids can build their lives not only on Christ but also on our faith and our legacy.
